With the opening of the Innovationszentrum für Bioenergie (Innovation Centre for Bioenergy) in September 2013 on the premises of the Deutsches Biomasseforschungszentrum (German Biomass Research Centre – DBFZ), the foundation was laid for a lasting and easy integration of small and medium-sized enterprises into bioenergy research in the location of Leipzig as a centre of research and education. In the future, companies in the field of bioenergy will be given unique opportunities to put their developments from research on the market quickly and cost-effectively. This will be made possible through numerous services to promote innovation, in combination with the research infrastructure in the location of Leipzig. The aim of the Innovation Centre is, in particular, to provide companies with a tailor-made selection of the research services and scientific know-how that they need for their innovations and project developments in the field of bioenergy.
Within the context of this cooperation, the Fraunhofer Center for International Management and Knowledge Economy is participating in the service portfolio of the Innovationszentrum für Bioenergie with two thematic modules. Among other things, the first module, “Innovation funding and marketing”, offers small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) support in accessing public and private capital and advises them on suitable financing options for innovation projects. In the second module, “Internationalization”, the Fraunhofer Center for International Management and Knowledge Economy supports medium-sized companies in developing foreign markets.
