First milestone meeting on the diffusion of digital technologies in vocational education and training through collaboration between learning facilities (DiBBLoK) in Dresden

The first milestone meeting of the research project "Diffusion of digital technologies in vocational education and training through collaboration between learning facilities (DiBBLoK)" took place on August 19th, 2019. The aim of this joint project funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) is to identify the best conditions for a successful use of digital technologies within the context of collaboration between learning facilities in vocational education and training. Researchers of the involved parties are developing different recommendations and measures for digitalization processes in vocational education and training, for vocational schools and training companies as well as individual users. As a result, the potential of digital, cross-linked working will be uncovered and potential future fields of application in learning facility collaboration will be identified.

The TU Dresden invited the participating network and cooperation partners (Fraunhofer IMW, FH Dresden, Bildungsportal Sachsen GmbH) along with other partners from the field (project advisory board). Priority was given to the presentation of the results of the first and second work step before they were discussed and validated together with the practical partners of the project advisory board. The team of the unit Professional Development and Competence Management of the Fraunhofer IMW presented the developed visualization of the indicator system, which shows first potential conditions for success (basic, organizational, personal, didactical and technological factors) in the digitalization of vocational education. In addition, the quantitative results from the secondary analysis of the user data of the online training booklet "Blok" were presented.

Thanks to the successful cooperation between all partners in the project so far, this first milestone meeting was characterized by an overall constructive and productive exchange between the project and network partners and reaffirmed the positive outlook for future cooperation.
