Joint New Year's Reception of Fraunhofer IZI and Fraunhofer IMW

The sixth joint New Year’s Reception of the Fraunhofer Center for International Management and Knowledge Economy IMW and the Fraunhofer Institute for Cell Therapy and Immunology IZI took place on the evening of January 17, 2018. 150 guests from the fields of science, economics, politics and culture came together at the premises of Fraunhofer IMW at the Städtisches Kaufhaus. After welcome speeches from Professor Thorsten Posselt, director of Fraunhofer IMW, and Professor Frank Emmrich, director of Fraunhofer IZI, Professor Ulrike Köhl, the new director of the Fraunhofer IZI, presented her main topics. Following on from one of Fraunhofer IMW’s research areas on market opportunities and the potential of artificial intelligence, Holger Volland, founder of the digital cultural festival THE ARTS+ and vice president of the Frankfurt Book Fair, gave his keynote speech, “Who will shape the world in the future – people or machines?“ At the subsequent get-together, guests concluded the evening by networking along with live jazz and a buffet.
