The collaborative project Leibniz ScienceCampus “Eastern Europe Global Area” (EEGA) investigates the positioning of Eastern Europe in global processes and conflicts. Prof. Thorsten Posselt, head of Fraunhofer IMW, coordinates the research area “Business Strategies and Frameworks of Political Economies” together with Prof. Sebastian Henn, University of Jena, and Prof. Thomas Glauben, Leibniz Institute of Agricultural Development in Transition Economies.

To continue the successful cooperation established in 2016, the representatives of the partner organizations signed a new cooperation agreement on September 16, 2020. The aim for the next four years is, among other things, to combine the elements master's studies, doctoral training and post-doc support. Besides the Fraunhofer IMW, the universities of Leipzig, Halle and Jena, the Leibniz Institutes for Regional Geography, for History and Culture of Eastern Europe and for Agricultural Development in Transition Economies and the Max Planck Institute for Ethnological Research are partners in the EEGA network. The Leibniz Institute for Jewish History and Culture - Simon Dubnow - is also a new addition.
