Milan Pentrack has been working at the Fraunhofer IMW in Leipzig as a research fellow in the digital project unit Data Mining and Value Creation since October 2018. Prior to that, he worked as an expert associate in consulting at the Lighthouse-Center of Excellence for Data and Analytics department at KPMG. After his diploma degree in biomathematics at the University of Applied Sciences Zittau/Görlitz Milan Pentrack worked as a research fellow at the Interdisciplinary Centre for Bioinformatics at Leipzig University. His work focused on the bioinformatic analysis of gene expression data of different cancer types using machine learning methods with the aim of identifying and understanding the causes and developmental pathways of the disease. At the Fraunhofer IMW he focuses on the connections between how companies use data in terms of value creation and how data acquisition and analysis can be applied to small and medium-sized enterprises in Saxony.
