KOMPASS – Voice controlled virtual care assistant

Due to demographic change, the population percentage of people with age-related limitations is rapidly increasing. Most of these people would like to continue to live in their own homes for as long as possible. In contrast to this desire, the number of care-giving relatives or professional carers is sinking – and the already existing shortage of suitable qualified professionals will hugely increase in the future. Assistance technologies can make a contribution to solving this problem by making it possible for people to continue to live an independent life in their own home. They assist people with everyday tasks and help them to cope with the household chores, to structure their day or to maintain their social life. Against this background, the KOMPASS project is addressing the development of a virtual assistant for people with cognitive impairments that will be there for them throughout the day.

Project duration: 1 September 2017 – 28 February 2018
