Big Data Center

Using data innovatively and efficiently - Big Data Center at the Fraunhofer Center in Leipzig

The worldwide volume of data doubles every two years. The currently available storage capacities will therefore by completely exhausted by 2020. Big Data offers solutions for this.

Whether information from patenting processes in order to examine the competitive environment of technology companies, the simulation of business models or price forecasts for the energy market - the realization of a Big Data Center at our institute facilitates the large-scale storage and evaluation of digital data. This makes data analyses, simulations, real-time forecasts or visualizations a firm element of innovative solutions for clients and research partners.

The Big Data Center has more than 220 processor cores and around 450 terabytes of storage capacity. With this technical infrastructure and our economics expertise, our researchers at the Fraunhofer Center for International Management and Knowledge Economy are helping clients who are getting ready to digitalize their own processes and business models.
