The researchers in the Digital Health unit (until June 2022: Price and Service Management) support companies with the challenges of price and service management on the basis of proven and innovative approaches stemming from applied research.
Our interdisciplinary team combines extensive experience with up-to-date knowledge from research and practical experience in the healthcare sector. It supports companies and medical institutions with customized organization, analysis and redesign of their business processes as digitization progresses.
The use of digitization enables patient-centered care and facilitates the work of employees in medical care facilities. Issues such as interoperability, comprehensibility, and reliability play a crucial role especially in combination with the processing of sensitive data and the responsibility over the well-being of patients. In this context, digitization efforts and the introduction of new technologies always also affect patients and therefore require special attention.
In times of continuous technological progress, ever-changing patient needs and increasing cost pressure, digital transformation takes on a new significance in the healthcare industry. Patients are actively demanding digital services, and the COVID-19 pandemic has also demonstrated an increased need for digitization. Using this potential allows the development of new, innovative business processes and business areas while at the same time putting people, both as patients and employees, at the center of activities and thereby strengthening the provision of care. In order to take full advantage of these opportunities and potential of digitization, the interdisciplinary team of Fraunhofer IMW offers companies individual research services, tailored to the individual starting situation and needs of each organization.
