From Leipzig main station (“Hauptbahnhof”)
On Foot from Leipzig Main Station
(Walking time: approx. 18 minutes):
- Exit the main station on the west side.
- Cross the ring, walk about 200 meters straight on Nikolaistraße.
- Turn right onto Brühl and follow the street to Richard-Wagner-Platz. Here, turn diagonally left into Große Fleischergasse, and continue straight to the Thomaskirchhof/Dittrichring intersection.
- Cross Dittrichring outbound, then turn left onto Dittrichring.
- Follow Dittrichring (becomes Martin-Luther-Ring)
- Arrival at LIPANUM (Fraunhofer IMW, Martin-Luther-Ring 13, 04109 Leipzig) after about 200 meters on the right.
By Tram from Leipzig Main Station
(Walking time: approx. 10 minutes):
- Take trams 3, 4, 7, 15, or 34 for one station to Goerdelerring.
- Exit, cross Goerdelerring towards the city center.
- Cross Richard-Wagner-Platz.
- Turn diagonally right into Große Fleischergasse, and continue straight to the Thomaskirchhof/ Dittrichring intersection.
- Cross Dittrichring outbound, then turn left onto Dittrichring.
- Follow Dittrichring (becomes Martin-Luther-Ring)

From Leipzig/Halle airport
By S-Bahn from Leipzig/Halle Airport
(Walking time: approx. 8 minutes):
- Take S-Bahn S5 towards Zwickau Disembark at Leipzig Markt station.
- Upon leaving the S-Bahn station, head south towards Thomaskirche.
- Turn right onto Thomasgasse (becomes Thomaskirchhof), go straight to the intersection with Dittrichring.
- Cross Dittrichring outbound, then turn left onto Dittrichring.
- Follow Dittrichring (becomes Martin-Luther-Ring)
Arrival at LIPANUM (Fraunhofer IMW, Martin-Luther-Ring 13, 04109 Leipzig) after about 200 meters on the right.
Via the A14 coming from Dresden
- Take exit 25-Leipzig-Mitte towards the city center.
- Follow signs towards Zentrum/Ring.
- Continue on B2/Richard-Lehmann-Straße for about 3 kilometers.
- Turn right onto Martin-Luther-Ring.

From A14 (from Berlin/Halle):
- Take exit 23-Leipzig-West towards Leipzig/Zentrum.
- Follow signs towards Zentrum/Ring.
- Continue on B181 and B87 for about 6 kilometers.
- Turn right onto Martin-Luther-Ring.

From A9/A38 (from Hermsdorfer Kreuz):
- Take exit 16-Leipzig-West towards Zentrum.
