EXPRESS discusses “The Future of Agriculture“ at Digital Day 2020

News | Leipzig /

Digital technologies worldwide are becoming more prevalent in the agriculture industry. This includes fruit and wine growing where numerous smart farming approaches offer new solutions to old problems. Used in the right place, these could, among other things, help to conserve resources and decisively improve the environmental balance in crop cultivation.

But how do we imagine the digital future of fruit plantations and wineries in concrete terms? What goal do we as a society want to agree on in order to work towards efficient and sustainable crop cultivation in a safe and focused manner?

Therefore, the research team of the Fraunhofer IMW Professionalizing of Knowledge Transfer Processes Unit is organizing a Digital Dialogue on the Future of Agriculture as part of Digital Day 2020 on June 19, which is open to all interested persons. After a short introduction of the EXPRESS experimental field, we want to illuminate visions for fruit and wine growing through a digital discussion round. The open exchange on the future of agriculture is part of the EXPRESS knowledge transfer strategy.
