Center for Digital Work (ZdA) Launches New Website

News | Leipzig /

With the launch of their website, the Center for Digital Work (ZdA) offers users a wide range of online information on the implementation of the project and on the ESF-funded program "Future Centers" run by the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs (BMAS).

The Chair of Innovation Management and Innovation Economics at the University of Leipzig, headed by Prof. Dr. Thorsten Posselt, Institute Director of Fraunhofer IMW, is involved in the project as a project partner, supported by the Professional Development and Competence Management Unit of Fraunhofer IMW.

At the heart of the website is the ZdA's "knowledge pool. This constantly growing online knowledge tool pools a wide range of expertise on the changing world of work in the course of demographic and digital transformation. The information and knowledge offered is rounded off by findings from the regional centers of the future and good practices. The ZdA knowledge pool is managed by a multidisciplinary team in the joint ZdA project partnership of ARBEIT UND LEBEN Sachsen e. V. with ATB Arbeit, Technik und Bildung GmbH Chemnitz, the University of Applied Sciences HTWK Leipzig and Leipzig University, where scientists from the fields of labor, politics and economics work together on the project alongside psychologists and sociologists.

Dr. Petra Gärtner, head of the ZdA and deputy managing director of ARBEIT UND LEBEN Sachsen on the launch of the website: "We want to set topics. We focus on bundling, systematizing and transferring knowledge and experience. To achieve this, we rely on good networking in the Future Centers program and between science and the corporate world".

"The online presence of the Center for Digital Work offers interdisciplinary information on digital and demographic change in the labor market for a 'learning labor policy'. Overarching, generated research and experience knowledge is thus bundled and made accessible to an interested public," continues Prof. Dr. Thorsten Posselt, chair holder at Leipzig University and Institute Director of Fraunhofer IMW.

Anzhela Preissler, head of the Professional Development and Competence Management unit at Fraunhofer IMW, also emphasizes: "The ZdA knowledge pool is a very good and easy-to-use tool that offers complex scientific topics in the field of digital transformation to interested parties from business and society in a prepared, understandable form. This creates the possibility for employees and market players to get an introduction to the most complex of topics, to set initial impulses and to tackle changes themselves on the basis of theoretical and practical information and to build up and expand necessary competencies."
