Mar Viñallonga is a research fellow at the “Center for Economics of Materials CEM“ branch office of Fraunhofer IMW in Halle (Saale) since January 2021.
She completed her bachelor's degree in physics at the Ruprecht Karls University in Heidelberg. She received her master's degree, also in physics with a focus on physics of materials and functional materials, from Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg. She worked at the Max Planck Institute for Microstructure Physics in the NISE department (Nano-Systems from Ions, Spins and Electrons) under the supervision of Prof. Stuart Parkin as a student assistant. The experimental work was especially in the clean room in the fabrication of magnetic (RFID - radio-frequency identification) chips.
Between her Bachelor's and Master's degrees, Ms. Viñallonga worked for one year in New Zealand in the R&D department (Research and Development) of a technology company in the field of analytics. Subsequently, she worked for the same company as a sales manager in Germany, responsible for office and field sales coordination in Europe.
