CrowdFANding - Falkenfieber

Motivation:

With its fourth crowdfunding project in sports, Fraunhofer IMW and »crowdFANding e. V.« from Jena are providing support to a soccer club called »HFC Falke e.V.«, which was founded by former fans of Hamburger SV. The club’s problem is that it does not have its own grounds in Hamburg. This means that an organized training and match structure are only possible with great personal effort (e.g. rotating training fields without floodlight, training on clay courts, transportation of training equipment with one’s own car, a lack of young talent development, etc.).

Project Description:

Since 2015, Fraunhofer IMW has been a scientific partner for »crowdFANding e. V.« for sports-related crowdfunding. Based on experiential knowledge and the latest scientific developments regarding success factors in crowdfunding, sports fans are supported in the realization of the projects they find important. Using accompanying surveys, well-founded conclusions about the motivation of the supporters could be analyzed and applied to other projects. With »crowdFANding – Falkenfieber«, a new campaign by fans for fans will be supported scientifically.

Our Services:

Along with the joint determination of the project’s content and the transfer of experiential knowledge, the role of Fraunhofer IMW will be to implement a supporting A/B test. This should provide information regarding the extent to which a varied representation of the compensatory measures in reward-based crowdfunding influences supporters’ behavior. In addition, Fraunhofer IMW will support the project during the campaign period of July 13th to August 31st, 2019 with lectures in the crowdfunding community, press releases, a movie night in Leipzig, and other ideas.
