Position paper “Data Sovereignty and Data Economy - Two Repulsive Forces?“ published
How do data sovereignty and data economy interact? This question is explored in the position paper of Fraunhofer IMW and Fraunhofer ISST. The authors provide initial recommendations for action for operators of data ecosystems to enable data sovereignty for their data market participants, taking into account the European and German data strategy.
While a few companies generate more and more value from data, others have no access to it at all. Citizens are often the source of data, but can hardly control its use. In the position paper “Data Sovereignty and Data Economy - Two Repulsive Forces?“, which researchers of Fraunhofer IMW have published together with colleagues from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), the University of Witten/Herdecke, T-Systems International and Fraunhofer ISST, ten areas of interaction between data economy and data sovereignty were identified as ways forward for a sustainable data ecosystem.
