V. jointly invited participants to the Central German Hydrogen Congress in Freyburg/Unstrut. More than 30 speakers presented regional projects and discussed current topics in the industry with around 250 participants in five sessions.

    Publication on Fraunhofer technologies for cultural heritage protection

    As a leading institution for applied research in Germany and Europe, Fraunhofer contributes to the protection of cultural heritage with its innovative research. Fraunhofer institutes have also been active in European and international projects in this field since as early as 1986. With the founding of the Research Alliance for Cultural Heritage (FALKE) in 2008, Fraunhofer not only joined forces with strong partners such as the Leibniz-Gemeinschaft, Stiftung Preussischer Kulturbesitz, the Dresden State Art Collections and the Central Library - SLUB Dresden and University Library, but also strengthened cooperation among more than 22 Fraunhofer institutes.

  • Causal treatment of organ fibrosis – a pathological proliferation of connective tissue, for instance in the lungs, heart or liver – has been almost impossible up until now. In the FibroPaths® project, four Fraunhofer Institutes: Fraunhofer Institute for Toxicology and Experimental Medicine ITEM, Fraunhofer Institute for Digital Medicine MEVIS, Fraunhofer Institute for Material and Beam Technology IWS and Fraunhofer IMW have joined forces to facilitate preclinical testing of antifibrotic drugs and consequently the development of fibrosis medication by developing a biochip.

    Since Thursday, April 28, 2022, visitors to the treasure room of the Saxon State Library – Dresden State and University Library (SLUB) can take part in a survey on one of the four remaining authentic Maya manuscripts in the world. The survey, conducted by the research team led by Urban Kaiser and Uta Pollmer of Fraunhofer IMW, examines as a case study the financial and organizational efforts that visitors take on in order to view the original manuscript.
